Subcutaneous injection
An injection into the fat layer under the skin. How most GLP-1 pens deliver the drug.
GLP-1 pens deliver the drug subcutaneously, into the fat just under the skin (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm), using a short fine needle. This is simpler and less painful than intramuscular or intravenous routes.
